Valet auto theft doesn't just happen in big cities. It happened in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on Sunday.

Imagine enjoying a nice stay in a nice hotel in a small Pennsylvania city. Suddenly, the valet has brought out your vehicle and it's time to go.

"Are all our bags here? Has everybody in the fam got everything? How much should I tip the valet? What's the best way out of here? How do I get to the interstate? Boy, all those taxes really pumped up the bill. What are these extra charges on my bill? Is it really going to rain today? I'm not looking forward to this 5 hour drive..."

These are the sorts of things a hotel customer might be thinking as they are about to receive their car back from the valet service. They probably are not assessing their risk of auto theft on the valet ramp, but they should. Everybody who uses valet parking services should.
